What are Therapeutic Programs?

CREATED OUT OF THE NEED FOR RECREATION THERAPY TO HAVE A MORE CLINICAL FOUNDATION MOVING AWAY FROM DIVERSIONAL ACTIVITIES TO THAT OF A PATIENT PROBLEM BASED TREATMENT METHOD THAT INCREASES THE PHYSICAL, COGNITIVE, EMOTIONAL AND FUNCTIONAL LEVEL OF THOSE THE CERTIFIED THERAPEUTIC PROGRAMS SPECIALIST (CTPS) SERVE. We provide training and certification for specialists.

How can I become certified?

To become certified, candidates must have at least a bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy (Therapeutic Recreaton), Pre-Approved preceptor directed 14 weeks Recreation Therapy Internship, Internship must be pre-approved by AOTPSC, Precptor must hold at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Therapy and Approved by AOTPSC, complete our training program and pass the Therapeutic Programs Specialist exam, validating their skills and knowledge.
